McBurney Park, better known as Skeleton Park, started as the Upper Burial Ground in 1819. The cemetery was Kingston’s primary burial ground until 1850, and the park was built on top starting in the 1880's. It is now the center of a vibrant community, and the Skeleton Park Arts Festival.
